Questions about Hemp

What is CBD?

CBD stands for cannabidiol – one of over 100 natural cannabinoids found in cannabis sativa (one of the Latin names for this type of cannabis). It has a variety of health benefits, is legal in most countries, non-toxic and completely non-psychoactive.

What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is derived from cannabis plants that have high levels of cannabidiol (CBD) while having low levels of THC. At Cannabare, our CBD oils always have less than 0.2% THC. These extracts can then be used in paste form, or mixed with other oils such as hemp seed oil, to lower the viscosity of the extract. The cannabidiol (CBD) content of CBD oil varies tremendously, since the manufacturers use a varying assortment of cannabis plants and preparation techniques. We produce CBD oil with a high concentration of CBD and containing 0.02% THC.

CBD Oil vs Hemp Oil

Although CBD oil and hemp oil are sometimes used interchangeably, there is a difference. Hemp oil is technically any oil that is derived from the hemp plant CBD oil is an oil that contains the compound CBD (cannabidiol). The compound itself is extracted from the cannabis or hemp plant and used to create an oil. Typically, CBD oils derived from hemp have low levels of THC. But, it’s worth noting that ‘CBD oil’ may also be referred to as ‘CBD hemp oil’. This is when the CBD oil has been taken from the hemp plant exclusively. When the CBD oil has been extracted from the plant and contains other plant compounds this is known as ‘whole plant’ CBD oil, or full spectrum CBD oil. To find out more, read our resource about CBD.

General Questions

Is CBD oil legal?

Hemp-derived CBD is legal in all US states and most European countries – so there’s no need to worry whether you could pass a Cannabis drug test as the majority of urine drug screens don’t detect CBD anyway. That being said, it’s thought that CBD stays in your system for two to five days.

Will I get high?

CBD oil won’t get you high because it has been specifically produced to minimize THC count (the stuff that gets you high) while maximizing CBD count (the stuff that actually prevents you getting high).

How does CBD make you feel?

Many people report that CBD makes them feel relaxed and calm. It does not make you feel ‘high’ as it is non-psychotropic.
